Among other things the purpose of the scheme is to get more dialogue about career opportunities, which may contribute to retain and attract talented employees.

The next deadline for registration is October 23, 2018. Registration at Empower Talent.

We hope that you again will communicate this information to relevant academic staff. We only send this email to you - the secretariat managers. You may wish to link to the news at staff.au.dk http://medarbejdere.au.dk/en/#news-11406

Experience and evaluation from previous participants shows that 100% recommend the mentor scheme to colleagues.

Quotes from the evaluations:

· ” In the period where I have been a mentee, I have become more certain that I want to pursue an academic career, and the possibilities for that have gotten closer.”

· ” The mentor meetings have been a really good way to reflect over career dreams and goals, and to make some decisions in relation to prioritizing tasks and plans.”

· “It's great to have someone to talk to about the next career step that neither will win (or lose) directly on giving advice to you.”

· “Experience with listening and more understanding of the challenges faced by young academics today.”

· “It’s an advantage to be matched with someone from a different department and faculty, because it means that mentor meetings can do something different than SDD interviews and research supervision..”

· ” From the perspective of the mentor, it has been very interesting and a strength for the mentor-mentee relationship to talk to someone from a different faculty. I definitely recommend it.”

We have attached a short presentation of the mentor scheme in Danish and in English. Furthermore, at our website you can find two videos presenting the mentor scheme.

If you want one of the employees behind the mentor scheme to come and visit your department, please contact Lizzi Edlich, AU HR (lie@au.dk ).
