Assistant Professor Jonas Elm receives an ERC Starting Grant
Assistant Professor Jonas Elm receives €1,500,000 from the EU's European Research Council.
The European Research Council has awarded Assistant Professor Jonas Elm an ERC Starting Grant of €1,500,000 (approx. $1,700,000). The grant is for Jonas' project 'Exploring the Molecular Properties of Atmospheric Freshly Nucleated Particles' - or 'ExploreFNP'.
The project aims to explore the missing link between atmospheric molecular clusters, e.g. airborne sulfuric acid and bases, and atmospheric particles via the formation of freshly nucleated particles. These freshly nucleated particles constitute a large uncertainty in global climate estimation and is therefore important to study further.
Congratulations on this extraordinary grant, Jonas!
