Dorthe Bomholdt Ravnsbæk is an inorganic materials chemist and her research is centred on the synthesis and structural studies of new sustainable electrode materials for rechargeable batteries. She is particularly concerned with understanding the structural changes that occur in the electrodes at the atomic level when the battery is used and how these changes are linked to the electrochemical properties of the battery.

Dorthe has her master's and PhD from the Department of Chemistry and iNANO and then continued her research in a postdoc position in 2011. In 2012, she went to a new postdoc position at MIT in the US. Two years later, she came home to Aarhus and continued as an assistant research professor at iNANO. In 2015, she took a new position, also as assistant research professor, at University of Southern Denmark, which was replaced with the title of associate professor the following year. From 1 November, a new chapter will start at the Department of Chemistry as professor.

We look forward to welcoming Dorthe (back) this November.
