Hydrogen Storage

Effective gas storage is the Achilles heel of the hydrogen society when it comes to mobile applications. CEM builds on the extensive experimental facilities at iNANO for synthesis and characterization of novel hydrogen storage materials. As an example CEM develops a new class of boron based light weight complex metal hydrides. CEM has successfully designed novel nano-composite materials that combine physisorption and chemisorption which makes them superior to any known storage material available today. Generally, CEM contributes strongly to the synthesis of new materials, since patents on new materials are the most valuable asset in a potential future hydrogen-based society.
