Fabian Mahrt has a PhD degree from ETH Zürich, Switzerland, where he focused his research on cloud microphysics and atmospheric ice formation. He has since then been a postdoc at Univeristy of British Columbia, Canada and at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland, where he focused his work on organic aerosol formation and their physicochemical properties through laboratory studies. 

In C3, Fabian brings new knowledge on particularly cloud microphysics and he will focus his work on wat atmospheric conditions are neccessary for formation of cloud droplets and ice crystals on aerosol particles.
