There are of course many different career opportunities within the chemical industry, where you, among other things, can work with pharmaceutical companies and in chemical production with development of new products and analysis of chemical reactions. You can also disseminate your knowledge of chemistry and teach in high school, in laboratory educational programmes, seminars or in other higher education. The Master's degree programme in Medicinal Chemistry is a two-year MSc. The programme is open to both students from universities and teaching institutions in Denmark and abroad.
During the programme, which is taught in English, you will, among other things, work on the design of new potential drug compounds and the synthesis of chemical compounds. You will also learn about how modern computational chemical methods are included in the design of medicines. Overall, you have good opportunities to specialise in the following examples: synthesis and analysis of potential new drugs; the structures of membrane proteins; activity and pharmacological properties; the microscopic structure of bones and other bioinorganic materials; modeling of proteins and their interaction with drugs; drug delivery; chemical biology.
