Thibault Viennet joins the department as assistant professor

Thibault Viennet joins the Department of Chemistry as new tenure track assistant professor on 1 September 2023, strengthening the department’s NMR section. He joins the department from a position as postdoc at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.

Thibault has a background in chemical engineering and bioanalytical chemistry. For the past six years, he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the groups of Haribabu Arthanari and Philip Cole at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston. There, he has identified and established his research field within the use of NMR spectroscopy in chemical biology, aiming at understanding fundamental biological questions.

For his new position at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University, Thibault aims to apply solution NMR methods for studying the effect of post-translational modifications on protein dynamics. Specifically, his research aims at understanding the molecular basis of the biological regulation of proteins involved in the development of cancer.

Thibault’s research in biophysics adds a new dimension to our both research and our teaching competencies. Thus, we are very happy that Thibault has chosen to establish his research group with us.

Welcome to the department and Aarhus University, Thibault.
