I have more than 15 years of research experience. My research is focused on patients with interstitial lung diseases and other rare lung diseases. I am interested in the epidemiology of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and autoimmune rheumatic diseases, in comorbidity and quality of life in these diseases, frailty and treatment including palliative treatment of breathlessness.
My research interests also include severe emphysema and valve treatment, and severe respiratory infections
I graduated from Odense University as a physician in 1991, and I became a specialist in Respiratory Diseases in 2006.
Since 2020, I have been professor in Respiratory Diseases
I collaborate with the ther Danish Centres for Interstitial Lung Diseases at Odense University Hospital, Herlev-Gentofte hospital and Rigshospitalet.
I also collaborate with other European ILD centres.
