Theoretical chemistry was introduced as an independent scientific discipline in Aarhus in December 1968. Theoretical chemistry in Aarhus has always strived to be in the forefront with respect to the development of new methods and algorithms in quantum chemistry.
It is therefore very timely to celebrate 50 years of theoretical chemistry in Aarhus with an international conference on this topic. Through lectures by a number of the foremost researchers in the field of electronic structure theory, it is the purpose of this conference to cover the recent advances in this field.
