Danish Chemical Society PhD prize 2026
Congratulations to Søren Møller and Emily Tsang, who have received the Danish Chemical Society PhD Prize for the best PhD theses of the year in the categories of "organic chemistry" and "medicinal chemistry and chemical biology", respectively.
Søren completed his PhD in Professor Thomas Poulsen’s group, where he is currently employed as a postdoctoral researcher. His thesis, “Constructing Complexity: Innovating Fragment Couplings for Natural Product Total Synthesis”, focused on designing novel stereoselective fragment coupling methodologies that enable efficient and modular access to complex natural products via total synthesis.
Emily completed her PhD in Professor Kurt V. Gothelf’s group and is now working in the Biohybrid Materials Group at Aalto University, Finland, as a postdoctoral researcher. Her thesis, “Programming Function into DNA Nanostructures”, focused on the development of DNA origami-based platforms for biosensing and the study of protein activity.
Congratulations to Søren and Emily on this well-deserved recognition.
