Going to Mars?
Merete's group went to Mars - or at least the planetary environmental facility at the Department of Physics, Aarhus University. Crossing the parking lot, we ventured down the basement and into a new atmosphere with higher pressures and colder temperatures.
Senior Researcher Dr. Jonathan Merrison, Department of Physics, Aarhus University, showed us the planetary environmenal facility. Here, they simulated dust aerosols in different atmospheres - e.g. Mars or on the Moon. He showed ud the facility and explained the physics of looking at dust aerosols in space. It was very interesting seeing proxies for marsian dust - which is more black or brownish than red - and lunar dust and learning how marsian sand storms are studied.
Thanks for showing us around!
