The Department of Chemistry wishes to invite you to a festive event, focusing on graduating students and alumni, after a long period of closure of the university. The past year has been challenging for both students and business. The opportunity to "network" has been absent, and we therefore hope to restart the relationships with this event.
Over the past year, it has also not been possible to recognise and celebrate everyone who has completed their Master's thesis or PhD studies at the department. We want to celebrate these people with a special congratulations and with a warm welcome to the alumni network with the desire of continued good cooperation and contact. All of this takes place in Auditorium I with the presentation of a small alumni gift.
Finally, the department will offer a cozy networking dinner, where there is ample opportunity to speak to former fellow students and supervisors and to get to know the next generation of skilled chemists.
Alumni Day 2021 will be held on Friday 3 September from 13:00 until late at the Department of Chemistry, Langelandsgade 140, 8000 Aarhus C.
The day programme will take place in Auditorium I and Auditorium VI.
13.00-13.10: Welcome speech by Birgit Schiøtt, Head of Department
13.10-14.10: Presentations by three alumni
14.10-14.45: Presentation of alumni gifts to graduates who have completed their education during the COVID-19 lockdown (Master's thesis and PhD)
14.45-16.00: Coffee and cake and networking session
16.00-17.00: Reunion with Kemishow
17.30-19.00: Reception and dining in the canteen
19.00- : Friday bar (@lkymia) - with current students
We really want to help our future graduates well on their way to the job market. Therefore we look for alumni to share some of their experiences in a networking session. It's going to be in an informal setting with small "stations" in Aud VI. You and the students can grab a cup of coffee and a piece of cake and share experiences at your stations. Filling a station doesn't require anything special, other than the desire to help future chemists/medicinal chemists. You are, of course, welcome to bring material, business cards or anything else, but this is not a requirement at all. We provide a name tag with the company name on it.

We also encourage current VIPs to reach out to former students and ask them if they might be interested in sharing their experiences at the networking session.
