The interdisciplinary project DRAMA is a collaboration between the Department of Biology, the Department of Chemistry and AU Engineering at Aarhus University. The major contribution from our group is the construction and characterisation of a linear quadruple trap to study bioaerosols in their airborne state. The BioSim (bioaerosol simulation chamber) will be encased in a climate chamber to control parameters such as relative humidity and temperature in detail. Bioaerosols will be trapped in the BioSim for several hours during which their water uptake potential can be probed. Additionally, their ability to serve as ice nucleating particles will be investigated.
