Small angle scattering

The small-angle scattering (SAS) technique is based on highly collimated X-ray beam hitting a diluted sample. The objects in the sample are typically much larger than the X-ray wavelength. By measuring a small angle it is possible to extract information about the size, shape and orientation of structures in a sample. Large scale structures from about 1 nm up to about 1000 nm can be investigated.
